The pressure is on.
By the end of the day I have no energy left for my husband, my kids have nearly succeeded in “driving me crazy” and everything (including my house) seems to be falling apart!
I quit! I tell myself.
But is that really the best option?
No, but we are tempted sometimes aren’t we?
I will never forget my sweet Great Grandma (who was 98 years old at the time) telling me about the day that she “quit”. She walked out the door leaving my Great Grandpa to fetch dinner for himself and the kids. “That will do it” she thought.
As she walked and walked, she felt God tugging at her heart and headed home.
Her frustration? “They never even realized I was gone!”
As she chuckled it away, I tucked it in my heart.
Yes, I pull it out sometimes to make me smile. But it reminds me that even though it may seem that no one notices you being a Wife, Mom, Homeschooler or “multiple hat wearer” the truth is our Father sees us.
He sees EVERY LITTLE DETAIL that everyone else misses!
So when it all seems like too much, I find nothing better to then to step back and resubmit it all over to the Lord- again.
He is in control.
When the plates you’re spinning fall and all comes crashing down, turn to Him who sees you in the thick of it.
Instead of saying I quit, let’s say help me, Lord!
I see you reading this today Mom, and I hope you will pray with me.
A Prayer for When Mom Wants to Give Up
Lord I come to you today heavy. The pressures of “Life” have been weighing me down and smothering my joy.
I come to you today for help. Help to do what I know I can’t do on my own. Your word tells me “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13) Please help cement that into my heart and my mind.
Scripture tells me that you want to carry my burdens. It says in Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. I pray rest for my soul.
I lay these things before you: My relationship with you, my Marriage, my Family, my schedule, my work or ministry and all of the “good things” that weigh me down as well. Would you give me your eyes to see clearly your plan for me each day?
Please help me to see my Husband and my child/children as you see them. I pray for strength to not give up interceeding for them in prayer. I want to be able to pray always and be watchful even when I am struggling to keep praying. Help me encourage them and build them up just as you have called me to do.
Please strengthen me for the battlefield that I face each day. Lord, this day, I choose to rest in your strength and not give up. Amen.
Press on with me Mama and stop letting the enemy or life’s pressures steal your joy!
God knows, He sees you and all that you do and He is your biggest supporter! He wants you to experience His peace, His joy and His strength. Which starts and ends with Him!
