Have you ever needed a “do-over” by 8 am .. or even earlier??

I know I have!

Sometimes it seems no matter how well we planned the day, it gets completely turned on its head! My attitude suffers and then it trickles down to the kids. At that point, I’m left with two options.

#1 I can continue on with a bad attitude and everyone suffers

#2 I can get a fresh perspective by focusing on God’s Grace
So which is best?

Can you guess it? Yep, #2 is a better choice every time!

We’re getting ready to focus this month on the Fresh Perspective God Offers by His Grace in our FREE Monthly Intentional Bible Study for Overwhelmed Moms. As we prepare, I want to look at 6 steps with verses to help us get started!

Remind your heart that you have been saved by grace through faith.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9

It is Christ’s work in us. Be open to receiving His help and He will work in you this day. God can help you turn it around no matter how big of a “do-over” you need right now 🙂

Do a heart check and ask for a fresh perspective.

What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! – Romans 6:15

Ask God to search your heart and bring to mind any area where you may be tempted to take advantage of His Grace.

Remember there is no condemnation. God’s Grace is abundant.

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. – Romans 6:14

After you’ve asked God to search your heart, go confidently to Him in prayer. Throw out any condemnation and lies in your head and repeat this verse to your heart!

Pray and submit your heart to God’s fresh perspective. Ask for His Grace to Help.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. – Psalm 86:6

Ask Him to hear your plea for grace. He is faithful and will not leave your side!

Keep your eyes focused on God’s grace!

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Remain steadfast. You can pursue God’s fresh perspective when hard times come.

When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose. – Acts 11:23

I won’t tell you it will be easy, but it will definitlely be worth it. As you focus on God’s grace in your life and continually submit your heart to see things through His eyes, hard times will inevitably come. The distractions of life will always be there. Remember you have a choice my friend. You can choose to get a fresh perspective by focusing on God’s Grace instead of your circumstances. He will be with you every step of the way!
