This little post is not the norm here….
But after talking with a few Moms, I believe it could still be helpful to you, so I’m going to give you the scoop!
I made these again for our little peeps the other day and remembered how much we love them! We are a peanut allergy family so finding quick snacks & treats isn’t always easy. Whenever we find one that’s tasty, easy and I can include some healthy ingredients, I’m all game.

I found the original recipe on Pinterest quite a while ago. Gimme Some Oven calls them No Bake Energy Bites!
Since we’re a nut free family AND have many mouths to feed, I’ve had to adjust the recipe to what works best for us and make them in bars.
Whether you are a nut allergy family like us, or you’re looking for a snack you CAN bring to school or co-op, these Quick + Easy – Peanut Free, No Bake, Energy Bars will do the trick!!
You’ll need:
The following ingredients + 9×13 Cake Pan, Large Mixing Bowl and Spoon
- 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 3 Cups Quick Oats Dry
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 Cups Wow Butter (or Peanut Butter Substitute) Please Note: Wow Butter is a soy based butter and it’s consistency is much like peanut butter. For us, it has been the closest thing we have tried to the taste and texture of peanut butter and we have tried lots 🙂 If you prefer an almond or sunflower butter, the amount needed for this recipe may be different than I posted.
- 1 Cup Flax Seed (optional)
- 2 tbsp Chia Seeds (optional)
- 2/3 – 1 Cup Honey
Let’s Begin!
In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients except the chocolate chips and mix well. I like to use a wooden spoon or my hands. Once the ingredients are mixed together, I add in the chocolate chips.
We use a glass baking dish so I don’t need to line with parchment paper although I do if I use my metal pan. Press into your baking dish. If it’s warm out I will chill for about 5-10 mins before cutting into squares. If not, I cut immediately into squares and serve!
That’s it!
