Does prayer make you feel awkward, confused or terrified? Or are you on the opposite end feeling excited and wanting to learn more?
No matter where you are at in your spiritual walk, prayer should be a priority.
Prayer is communication with God. It is our chance to share our heart but also to hear from Him. Prayer can be such a comfort to us! His word tells us to pray continually. We can tap into His strength in prayer and it can give us so much peace in difficult situations!
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
If you’re in the first group, and prayer is, uncomfortable it’s ok, we all start off there. I believe a prayer challenge can be super helpful to set you on the right track. It can give you steps and take the awkward right out of it!
For the second group, if you want to grow your prayer life, a prayer challenge can help take you to the next level. You will have a plan and the consistency you need to be disciplined in prayer!
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18
A prayer challenge can give us focus, a plan, and accountability to follow it through.
Finding a Prayer Challenge
There are quite a few ways to join a prayer challenge. Some are by email, with a prayer calendar or there are also facebook groups that hold them. They can also vary in length. 5 days -30 days – 40 day challenges and more! There are truly prayer challenges to meet you in every season!
I have done many through the years and they ALWAYS bless me in growth and my relationship with the Lord – not to mention within my family!
Today I have collected some that I have either done myself or they are from a ministry I follow.
My goal is to encourage you to try a prayer challenge by making it easy and less overwhelming. I will have just a couple in each category listed for your to explore.
Whether you use these or not, I highly recommend you give a prayer challenge a try! If you want to search for a specific topic, Pinterest is also a great place to look I have a prayer board with lots of ideas on prayer!
